Overview
Yeshiva Har Torah is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Middle School History Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is available in two configurations:
Full-Time: Monday through Thursday, 8:45 AM to 4:45 PM, and Friday, 8:45 AM to 1:00 PM. The full-time teacher will teach three sections of 6th Grade World History and three sections of 7th Grade American History.
Part-Time: Two part-time options are available:
- Morning (World History): Monday through Thursday, 8:45 AM to 12:30 PM, and Friday, 8:45 AM to 11:00 AM, teaching four sections of 6th Grade World History.
- Afternoon (American History): Monday through Thursday, 12:15 PM to 4:45 PM, and Friday, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, teaching four sections of 7th Grade American History.
Responsibilities
- Teach middle school American history, covering key events, figures, and themes.
- Develop and implement engaging, discussion-based lessons that promote historical thinking and analysis.
- Foster a student-centered classroom that encourages inquiry, debate, and connection to current events.
- Utilize primary sources, historical documents, and multimedia resources to enhance instruction.
- Assess student progress through varied and meaningful assessments, providing constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to support student growth and school initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure student success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Teaching experience in middle school history preferred.
- Strong knowledge of American history, historical inquiry, and primary source analysis.
- Ability to create an engaging, inquiry-based learning environment.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
