To put it simply, you will support the development and ongoing administration of YES Prep’s compensation programs, strategies, and policies.
THE ROLE
When you join the YES Prep team, some of the work and responsibilities will include:
- Compensation Analysis & Recommendations
- Makes compensation recommendations and executes YES Prep’s compensation philosophy, policies, and protocols by determining compensation offers for central office candidates, issuing offer letters, and verifying all compensation data within HRIS.
- Administers and maintain central office salary structures, pay grades, and supplemental compensation programs.
- Analyzes internal pay equity and recommend adjustments to ensure fairness and compliance.
- Prepares compensation offers for new hires and promotions, ensuring alignment with YES Prep’s compensation philosophy, policies, and protocols.
- Market Research & Benchmarking
- Participates in compensation surveys and analyze market data to assess competitiveness with surrounding districts and similar industries.
- Provides insights and recommendations for central office salary structure adjustments based on market trends.
- Data Management & Reporting
- Maintains accurate compensation data within our HRIS (TylerMunis) and performs regular audits to ensure integrity of our compensation data.
- Develops and distributes annual compensation statements for district staff.
- Prepares labor cost projections and compensation reports for leadership decision-making.
- Conducts regular audits of internal compensation data to ensure accuracy, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Policy & Compliance
- Ensures adherence to organizational compensation philosophy and policies, including no-negotiation practices.
- Supports compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to compensation.
- Communication & Resources
- Creates and maintain compensation resources and guides for staff and managers.
- Responds to compensation-related inquiries and provide clear, timely guidance.
- Collaborate across departments and campus leadership to provide clear communication on compensation practices, policies, and decisions.
- Supplemental Compensation Programs
- Assists in the development and administration of performance pay, incentive programs, and other supplemental compensation initiatives.
- Executes on tracking of generated Teacher Incentive Allotment funds and distribution for designees.
- Continuous Improvement
- Collaborates with leadership to identify opportunities for process improvements and enhancements to compensation structures.
- Supports training and education on compensation practices for managers and staff.
- Other Duties
- Performs job evaluations and slotting within established structures.
- Completes additional projects and tasks as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
- 3 years of compensation-related experience with specific experience creating compensation quotes and conducting benchmarking analyses
- Extensive knowledge of human resource laws, regulations, and best practices
- Experience specializing in a professional field such as compensation, data, etc.
- Proficient Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to work outside of normal hours and on weekends as needed and sit for prolonged periods of time

- 2 years of compensation specific experience
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and initiatives at once
- Compensation – This position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience.
- Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $0 monthly medical option or a $24 monthly option that includes $50 YES Prep Paid Health Savings Account contribution, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20 hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
- Retirement Plans – Participation in Teacher Retirement System of Texas and an optional 457b Retirement Plan.
- Paid Time Off – Employees working 20 hours a week receive 15 days of Paid Time Off in addition to the system closures during the Academic Calendar.
- Paid Leave Programming – In the event you need to be out due to medical needs (including maternity and paternity leave), YES Prep offers paid leave, paid out at 100%, based on eligibility and tenure.
