Responsibilities
When you join the YES Prep team as the Manager of School Projects - Elementary some of the work and responsibilities will include:
Vendor, Procurement & Budget Support
- Managing all purchasing and procurement processes for the Elementary Academics and Special Populations teams;
- Leading end-to-end vendor management, including selection, contracting, onboarding, and performance monitoring;
- Creating and tracking requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, and payments;
- Monitoring budgets with team leaders to align purchasing with funding allocations;
- Maintaining systems to track orders, inventory, and vendor deliverables;
- Maintaining and monitor contract renewal cycles and initiate RFPs as necessary;
- Supporting MD of Special Populations with processing of contracted services in alignment with finance guidelines;
- Processing and receiving invoices as a result of translation services from Disciplinary Hearings
- Leading and managing high-priority projects for Elementary Academics and Special Populations;
- Completing ad-hoc projects, data analysis, and operational requests;
- Building and maintaining logistical systems supporting cross-functional work;
- Developing surveys and automated workflows;
- Participating in working groups across Academics, Schools, and Home Office teams.
- Leading planning and execution of Elementary Content Day, which includes site logistics, coordination of room assignments, and communication.
- Managing logistics for Elementary Academics and Special Populations events, including but not limited to Bilingual Saturdays.
- Supporting system-wide events such as School Huddles and Leadership Summit,
- Developing and maintaining communication structures for Elementary teams and campuses;
- Providing updates on purchasing timelines, vendor information, and project status;
- Maintaining communication with vendors and internal stakeholders;
- Collaborating with Secondary Manager on system-wide communications (One System, One Mission);
- Collaborating with Communications & Marketing as needed.
- Supporting OKR tracking for Elementary Academics and Special Populations;
- Maintaining systems for purchasing, vendor, and logistics tracking;
- Supporting inventory coordination;
- Scheduling and tracking logistics for the disciplinary hearing process.

THE MUST HAVES
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
- Proven ability to manage projects and learn and utilize technological skills
- Experience following operational and financial processes
- Ability to work outside of normal hours and on some weekends to support users of the vendor product or service
- Ability to troubleshoot and communicate product challenges to find a viable solution
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Detail-oriented and self-directed
- Evidence of proficient use of Office 365 suite of applications
- Belief in and commitment to the mission and core value of YES Prep Public Schools
- Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress

- 2 years of vendor management experience
- 2 year of experience in PK-12 education
- Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks and initiatives at once
- Compensation – This position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience.
- Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $0 monthly medical option or a $24 monthly option that includes $50 YES Prep Paid Health Savings Account contribution, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20 hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
- Retirement Plans – Participation in Teacher Retirement System of Texas and an optional 457b Retirement Plan.
- Paid Time Off – Employees working 20 hours a week receive 15 days of Paid Time Off in addition to the system closures during the Academic Calendar.
