This is a ground-floor opportunity to own the quality inspection function at a brand-new high-volume jet engine manufacturing facility standing up in metro Atlanta. You'll be both a leader and a doer — setting the standard, building the team, and keeping product conformity locked in as production scales. What You'll Do
Lead and perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections across a fast-moving production environment. Conduct FAIs, dimensional and functional inspections, and root cause investigations. Review and approve inspection documentation and disposition decisions. Coordinate with production, engineering, and supply chain to resolve nonconformances and keep schedules moving. Supervise, train, and cross-train a small inspection team. Build scalable quality practices aligned with AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer requirements. Support internal and external audits. Drive lean and continuous improvement initiatives on the floor. This role is hands-on. You won't be managing from a desk.
What You Bring
- 5 years in manufacturing quality inspection — aerospace, defense, or regulated environment required
- 2 years in a lead or supervisory role - AS9100 / ISO 9001 experience
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T proficiency
- Hands-on with precision measurement tools — calipers, micrometers, height gauges
- AS9102 First Article Inspection experience
- Root cause analysis methodology (5 Whys, Fishbone)
- Experience with digital quality or ERP systems
- Must be a U.S. citizen (ITAR-compliant facility)
- High school diploma required; technical or Associate's degree preferred
