Position Overview
The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in supporting the employee lifecycle and organizational success by leading recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, provider credentialing, compliance, benefits administration, and workforce development initiatives. This position partners closely with leadership to foster a positive workplace culture, ensure compliance with employment regulations, and implement human resource strategies that attract, develop, and retain exceptional talent.
The HR Generalist serves as a trusted resource for employees, leaders, physicians, and applicants while promoting organizational excellence and supporting Yellowstone Surgery Center’s mission and values.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Lead recruitment efforts by sourcing, interviewing, and coordinating the hiring of qualified candidates
- Partner with department leaders to identify staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies
- Conduct or coordinate background checks, employment eligibility verification, and pre-employment requirements
- Coordinate new employee onboarding and orientation to ensure a positive transition into the organization
- Support onboarding and orientation activities for newly credentialed providers
Employee Relations & Workforce Support
- Serve as a resource for employees and leaders regarding HR policies, workplace concerns, and employment practices
- Assist with employee relations matters, investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance management initiatives
- Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations as appropriate
- Promote employee engagement, recognition programs, morale initiatives, and professional development opportunities
- Respond to employment-related inquiries while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
Provider Credentialing & Student Coordination
- Coordinate credentialing activities for non-employed providers, including verification of licenses, certifications, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare credentialing information for review by the Credentialing Committee and support provider onboarding activities
- Manage documentation and coordination for students, observers, and affiliated educational programs
- Maintain affiliation agreements, confidentiality documentation, liability requirements, and rotation schedules with provider offices and organizational leadership
Benefits Administration & Leave Management
- Administer employee benefit programs and ensure accurate enrollment and eligibility information within the HRIS
- Coordinate benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, and annual Open Enrollment activities
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefit plans, eligibility, and claims
- Administer leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, disability leave, and personal leaves of absence
- Interpret leave regulations and guide leaders and employees regarding compliance and eligibility
- Support 401(k) administration, annual catch-up contributions, and retirement plan communications
Compliance, Training & Regulatory Oversight
- Monitor compliance with mandatory education, licensure, certifications, and continuing education requirements
- Coordinate and document required organizational training, including safety and compliance initiatives
- Ensure completion of regulatory reporting requirements, including OSHA, ACA, Workers’ Compensation, ERISA/5500, and EEO-1 reporting
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and recommend policy updates and best practices
- Stay informed of changes in employment law, HR trends, and regulatory requirements
Human Resources Operations & Organizational Development
- Support execution of HR programs related to talent management, performance evaluation, occupational health and safety, and employee development
- Generate reports and data to support benefit administration, workforce planning, and organizational decision-making
- Perform quality reviews of HR and benefits data to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Assist in developing HR processes and initiatives that improve operational efficiency and employee experience
- Support special projects and organizational initiatives as assigned

- Build positive relationships with employees, providers, leaders, and external partners
- Collaborate across departments to support staffing, onboarding, compliance, and workforce planning

- Normal hospital environment with exposure to chemical odors, cleaning solvents, and other hazardous materials
- Exposure to possible injury when working with electrical equipment and lasers, which requires care and following proper safety procedures

Bloodborne Pathogens:
Based on the OSHA guidelines for protection against occupational exposure to Hepatitis and HIV, this position is described as Category I. This means the position has exposure to blood and other body fluids. Policies are in place for Universal Precautions, exposure risk identification, and appropriate barrier protection.

Qualifications:
Education, Experience, licensure/certification requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or comparable work experience. At least one year of Human Resources experience preferred
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent professional certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR best practices
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Salary : $33 - $46
