Responsibilities & Duties

1. Supervise and provide direction to Quality Control Checkers (QCCs), ensuring expectations, coverage, and shift-to-shift consistency are maintained.

2. Oversee and participate in galvanizing process control activities, including tank monitoring, sampling, and verification of process conditions.

3. Ensure key process and operational data is accurately tracked and maintained, including production records, tank activity, and quality documentation.

4. Oversee inspection of raw materials and finished products and ensure appropriate action is taken on nonconforming material.

5. Ensure nonconforming product and process deviations are documented, tracked, and investigated, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.

6. Maintain authority to stop production and hold product when quality or safety standards are not met.

7. Review and verify QCC documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established requirements.

8. Conduct routine floor and yard inspections to verify product condition, status, and adherence to quality and safety standards.

9. Enforce execution of EHS policies, procedures, and safe work practices, including proper documentation of incidents, injuries, and near misses.

10. Provide coaching, guidance, and training to quality personnel to support development, accountability, and performance.

11. Support development and revision of procedures, work instructions, and documents (YDOCs).

12. Support internal audits and investigations related to quality and EHS programs.

13. Monitor operations for changes that may impact quality or safety and communicate risks as identified.

14. Coordinate with operations, maintenance, and management to address quality and EHS concerns.

15. Support tracking and coordination of galvanizing by-products, materials, and related documentation.

16. Maintain accurate and organized records related to quality checks, inspections, and process monitoring.

17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

1. Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on experience in manufacturing, quality, or EHS environments.

2. Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

3. Ability to communicate expectations clearly while providing direction, guidance, and accountability to quality personnel within a production environment.

4. Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and apply product specifications, process requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.

5. Working knowledge of quality control methods, process monitoring, and production environments (galvanizing or similar industrial processes preferred).

6. Ability to identify nonconformance, assess risk, and take appropriate action, including holding product, stopping production, and enforcing standards when required.

7. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to RCA and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.

8. Experience developing and drafting procedures, work instructions, and documentation systems.

9. Ability to work independently on the production floor while maintaining accountability for quality and safety performance.

10. Working knowledge of EHS principles and safe work practices within an industrial environment.

11. Willingness and ability to take on responsibilities beyond routine tasks to support operational, quality, and safety objectives.

12. Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment with direct involvement in quality or EHS execution.

Pay: $26.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 45.0 per week
