Overview
Yellow Brick Coffee (YBC) is seeking an experienced Cafe Manager to oversee cafe operations at our flagship location on N Country Club and our downtown location on 115 N Church Ave.
Our flagship location showcases Yellow Brick Coffee’s meticulous attention to detail and unparalleled customer service via a hyper local specialty food and beverage menu. This location employs 10-12 staff, including up to three Shift Leads. Our downtown cafe includes 2-3 staff and offers the same quality and customers service with a limited food and beverage menu.
As the Café Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient operations, maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, and fostering a positive team atmosphere. Experience in luxury hospitality is a plus. Salary is commensurate to experience. Opportunity for Bonus is available.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily café operations, including staff supervision and scheduling
- Oversee food preparation and presentation to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain inventory control and order supplies as needed
- Handle cash management and ensure accurate POS transactions using Square
- Train, develop, and mentor staff in culinary skills, customer service, and operational procedures
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment
- Implement effective budgeting strategies to optimize operational costs
- Provide exceptional customer service to enhance guest experiences
- Conduct interviews and assist in hiring new team members
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to manage food production for daily service and special events
- Other duties as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in luxury hospitality, restaurant management or café operations
- Love for coffee
- Familiarity with culinary techniques and kitchen management practices
- Highly organized
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Proficiency in using square POS system for efficient transaction processing
- Excellent communication and customer service
- Desire to learn and help company grow
- Ability to manage and lead a team of employees
- Food Safety Manager Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with inventory control and budgeting in a food service setting
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence
- Experience in training & development of staff members is highly desirable
- Ability to collaborate with and take direction from ownership team
- Ability to work independently to take on challenging tasks
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Spanish speaking is a plus
- Background in fine dining or casual dining environments is preferred
