Yehowa Medical Services is a federally qualified clinic with 6 locations in Los Angeles county. We are a family practice and we looking for bilingual (Spanish/English) Call Center Representative.
In this position, you will be responsible for providing timely and courteous telephone assistance, answering screens and triage a high volume of incoming calls, and will verify and updating all demographic and insurance information in or EHR system(eClinicalWorks).
Duties and Responsibilities
Patient Coordination & Scheduling
- Prompt Communication: Answer all telephone calls in a polite, professional manner.
- Data Entry: Accurately enter demographic and insurance information into e-ClinicalWorks.
- Scheduling: Manage appointments by verifying dates, times, and providers; remind patients of items to bring (ID, insurance, copays) and arrival times.
- Outreach: Conduct appointment reminders, reschedule missed appointments, and follow up with patients via mail after three unsuccessful contact attempts.
Clinical Support & Documentation
- Clinical Tasks: Monitor "jelly beans" daily for e-prescription refills, telephone encounters, and lab results; schedule patients accordingly.
- Log Management: Maintain the after-hours message log and the ER admission/discharge log.
Patient Advocacy
- Liaison Services: Act as a bridge between patients and the clinic, directing calls to appropriate departments.
- Conflict Resolution: Use sound judgment to handle upset patients and escalate calls to the Practice Manager or Triage Nurse when necessary.
Skills & Requirements
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Medical Terminology.
- EHR Experience: Familiarity with e-ClinicalWorks is a significant plus. (Preferred can train)
- Communication: telephone etiquette and the ability to relate to diverse socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or healthcare certification preferred.
- Certification: Current BLS/CPR certification required. Medical Assistant (MA) certificate preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year in customer service or a clinical environment.
- Bilingual: Proficiency in Spanish is highly preferred.
- Compliance: Must maintain annual TB clearance, Fitness for Duty, and required vaccinations.
- Availability: Must be available to work overtime and weekends as needed.
