Phone Operator/Sales Admin
1st Shift (8:00am-5:00pm)

Yarde Metals is looking for an office associate to join our Hauppauge, NY team! The position is responsible for providing general office, data entry, and clerical support to sales and operations.
Responsibilities
- Answer and transfer incoming calls, greet callers and visitors, and take messages.
- Enter and update sales orders and quotes.
- Proofread quotes and sales orders.
- Provide internal and external customer support.
- Process returned material and internal credits.
- Fax, file, and distribute documents.
- Sort and distribute mail.
- Enter and process material receipts, shipments, and inventory changes in system.
- Review and proofread reports and system documents for accuracy.
- Research material usage to reconcile systems inventory discrepancies.
- Work with various departments to resolve inventory issues.
- Print inventory tags and prepare paperwork for shipments.
- Match and file bills of lading, packing slips, work orders, and certifications.
- Assist internal and external customers with questions and expedite orders.
- Track and report truck mileage and weights.
- Review weekly activity reports and take necessary action.
- Scan, coordinate, and file paperwork.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisor.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
- Experience directly related to the duties of the position or customer service.
- Effective verbal communication skills, articulate, professional, and ability to speak clearly.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
- A very high level of attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently.
- Organized, analytical, and strong problem-solving skills.
