Position: Line Cook / Multi-Station Cook
Yard & Lake in Northport is looking for a dependable, experienced Line Cook to join our kitchen team.
We’re looking for a solid, well-rounded individual who is comfortable working multiple stations and takes pride in preparing good food consistently. We’re looking for someone who knows their way around a professional kitchen, works well with others with a team-focused mentality, and can handle a busy service.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working sauté and other hot-line stations
- Comfortable with cold station, salads, appetizers, and general prep
- Strong basic knife skills
- Ability to follow recipes, portioning, and plating standards
- Good understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling
- Ability to keep a clean, organized workstation throughout service
- Comfortable working with fresh ingredients and preparing food from scratch
- Able to work efficiently during busy service without sacrificing quality
- Willing and able to work multiple stations as needed
- Dependable, punctual, and able to communicate well with the rest of the kitchen
- Positive attitude and willingness to be part of a team
Yard & Lake is a seasonal, ingredient-driven restaurant with a diverse menu and a kitchen that values quality, organization, and teamwork. We work with a variety of fresh and local ingredients and are looking for someone who enjoys cooking and wants to be part of a professional but down-to-earth kitchen.
Experience: Previous professional kitchen or line-cook experience preferred, however Yard & Lake offers and training and mentoring culture to help grow your skills.
Schedule: Nights and weekends will be required. Specific schedule and hours can be discussed during the interview.
Pay: Highly Competitive; based on experience.
