Takeout Service Associate

Job Summary
Yard House is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Takeout Service Associate to support takeout operations and provide accurate, efficient service to guests. The ideal candidate will handle customer orders, coordinate with kitchen staff, prepare and verify takeout packages, process payments, and maintain a clean and organized service area.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide friendly, professional takeout service.
• Take phone, online, and in-person takeout orders accurately.
• Enter customer orders and special requests into the POS system.
• Confirm order details, modifications, quantities, and customer preferences.
• Process cash, card, and other approved payment transactions.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff regarding order timing and special requests.
• Package food, beverages, utensils, and condiments carefully.
• Verify takeout orders for accuracy before handing them to customers.
• Provide guests with accurate pickup information and estimated wait times.
• Answer basic menu questions and assist customers with selections.
• Address basic order concerns and communicate unresolved issues to management.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked takeout counter.
• Restock bags, containers, napkins, utensils, and other service supplies.
• Assist with opening, closing, and routine cleaning duties.
• Follow food handling, sanitation, cash-handling, and workplace safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, takeout, cashier, or customer service experience preferred.
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic payment processing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and order accuracy.
• Ability to remain organized and calm during busy service periods.
