What are the responsibilities and job description for the Private groom stable position at Yard and Groom?
All of our horses are well-behaved, very easy to handle and friendly. Duties include all aspects of horse care and stable management including but not limited to feeding, turn in / out, cleaning stalls, picking paddocks, general barn cleaning upkeep, filling water tubs, grooming, tacking up, cooling down, tack cleaning.
Must be meticulous / neat / tidy. Must have solid experience handling horses of all ages and excellent knowledge of horse health, and medical care such as wrapping, administering meds, horse first aid, etc.
Ability to operate a tractor and a Kubota RTV needed, will train.We are open to creating the perfect dream job situation for the ideal candidate.
We are looking for the candidate(s) with staying power who is searching for a comfortable and secure position to settle into with potential for growth.
Opportunity for future management position.Required hours include at minimum : most weekday PM chores (approximately 2 hours each day) and all AM and PM weekend chores (approximately 3-4 hours a day split between morning and evening), plus the flexibility and availability to oversee the farm while we are traveling (average 3-4x / year for approximately 8-12 days and several weekends)Part-time : 10-16 hours / weekFull-time : 30-35 hours / weekClean background a must : no illegal drugs.
NO alcohol, smoking or vaping allowed on premises. No dogs allowed on premises.Attention to detail a must, reliable, self-motivated, independent worker, friendly and willing attitude.
