What are the responsibilities and job description for the 3rd Shift Forklift Operator position at Yanfeng Automotive Interiors?
The Forklift Operator ensures that raw materials are available as needed and requested. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate movement and storage of goods in warehouse. May work on own or as part of a team.
Essential Functions of Job:
- Check machines to ensure they all have boxes, processing aids, and auxiliaries as per F.P.A. form.
- Move stock from the press upon job completion or mold change as per F.P.A. form.
- Move finished pallets after the boxes have been checked and stamped by Quality control.
- Move finished goods to the warehouse and store in proper place.
- Housekeeping: all component parts, finished and unfinished goods not being used should be put away in their proper places with care.
- Follow the safety rules, report safety problems and all injuries, regardless of severity.
- Keep empty boxes and pallets by presses.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Inform supervisor when stock is low as per F.P.A. form. ·
- At the end of the shift, leave at least one hour’s stock.
- Ensure plant safety and 5S housekeeping standards are maintained.

Specific Requirements:
- High School Graduate or Equivalent Area of Studies: General Studies *Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions
Required Qualifications:
- 1 -3 Years of Experience with forklift driving, assembly, manufacturing or similar. Less Than 1 Years of Experience within the automotive industry. Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Competency in reading, writing and basic math.
- Valid driver’s license and passing grade on Power Industrial Truck test.

Work Environment:
- Often exposed to distracting sounds and noisy conditions. Personal protective equipment is required. Must be able to match the pace of work to the speed of equipment.
EHS and Quality Requirement
- Technicians/Operators of High Risk Equipment must be certified before operating (forklift, overhead crane, etc)
- Technicians/Operators of High Risk Activity (Electrician, Welding, etc.) must be certified to meet specific EHS Qualifications including legal requirements
- All product critical characteristic knowledge and legal requirements for product apply to Product Safety Personnel (e.g. Safety Parts Engineer, Operator, Inspector, etc.)
- Color/Appearance Evaluation – Apply to Color Evaluation personnel (e.g. Appearance Engineer, Operator, Inspector, etc.)
- Product Safety – Apply to the person who requires product safety knowledge (e.g. Safety Parts Engineer, Buyer, Operator, Inspector, Advanced Quality Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineer, etc.)
