Purpose Of The Role

As the ERP Business Analyst, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between business processes and technology solutions by analyzing business needs, facilitating ERP implementations and upgrades, and optimizing ERP system functionality. This critical role in the IT department involves working closely with cross-functional internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure the successful integration and utilization of the ERP system to enhance operational efficiency and support organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, document, and analyze business requirements, ensuring alignment with the organization's objectives and that they can be addressed by the ERP system.
  • System Configuration and Customization: Configure and customize the ERP system to meet business needs, including defining workflows, data models, and security settings, and ensuring the system is tailored to optimize business processes.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop test plans, conduct testing, and oversee the validation of ERP modules and configurations to verify that they function correctly and meet user requirements.
  • Training and Change Management: Provide training and support to end-users, ensuring they understand how to effectively use the ERP system. Develop change management strategies to facilitate smooth transitions and user adoption.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor and evaluate the ERP system's performance and its impact on business operations. Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement changes.

  • Data Migration and Conversion: Experience in migrating data from legacy systems to the ERP platform and ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Training and Documentation: Capability to develop training materials and conduct training sessions for end-users, as well as document processes and system changes.
  • Project Management: Familiarity with project management methodologies to oversee ERP implementation projects, including planning, scheduling, and coordination.
  • SQL and Database Management: Proficiency in SQL querying and database management, essential for extracting and manipulating data within the ERP system.

Qualifications

  • Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably with ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems, such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with ERP Sage X3 is a plus

Physical Requirements

For the role of ERP Business Analyst, the physical requirements are generally minimal due to the office-based nature of the job. However, some physical demands may include:

  • Regularly required to sit for extended periods.
  • Frequently required to use a computer, including typing and viewing a monitor.
  • Regularly required to talk and/or listen in conversations with customers and team members, both in-person and over the phone.
  • Occasionally may need to lift and move small office supplies, up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional travel may be required for trade shows or meetings, which could involve standing for long periods, walking long distances, and transporting light materials.
  • Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer keyboards, monitors, copiers, and scanners.
