Summary

Study technological and business trends to be able to recommend changes to technology and business process to take advantage of advances in both. Design and guide the implementation of business computer-based information systems. Prepare and present reports to management as needed.
Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES :
This position is responsible for planning, tracking and reporting on all Purchasing division activities related to new model development. Specific events that are tracked and reported on include: The release of required drawings from the Product Development department and the receipt of those drawings into the Purchasing Department. Release of Requests for Quotations (RFQ) by the Buyers. Buyer analysis of the suppliers? quotation and timely supplier selection and Concurrent Engineering (CE) meeting progress. Buyer’s issuance of Award Notifications to selected suppliers Tooling Purchase Order release ASQE issuance of PPAP requirements and supplier tooling completion and first part delivery. The loading of supplier part ordering information into the YMMC computer systems. Pilot part delivery and production readiness of the supply base. New model Cost development Maintaining up-to-date information on tool construction lead-times and new part development lead-times and communicating that information throughout the YMMC organization. Collecting Buyer information on Engineering Changes and representing the Purchasing department in Production Controlled Engineering Change meetings. Contributing to the development and maintenance of various computer systems utilized by the Purchasing department including (PYMAC), Model Cost Development System (CARDS), the Purchasing department web page, and the supplier web portal. Tracking and reporting on new model costs. Monitoring the condition of Yamaha owned tooling being used by suppliers and overseeing the development of annual budgets for the repair and replacement of worn tooling. Reporting new model activity progress to the Purchasing division Presentation of Purchasing model development status to Executives. The Purchasing Analyst is also responsible for developing and maintaining monthly tracking charts for: Supplier On-Time Delivery Performance, Inventory On-Hand Balances, PPM (Quality) data, Raw Material Price Trends and Production part Cost Development (cost ups and cost downs)
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS :
Education/Experience
Four-year College Degree (in a business administration or business management related field) plus two years of experience in a Project Management position within a production-manufacturing environment or equivalent years (5 ) of experience in a Project Management position or Production Purchasing environment in lieu of degree.
High school diploma or GED required.
Preferred Skills
Computer Experience: Experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is preferred (not mandatory). Working knowledge of Microsoft Access is helpful.
Other Req uired Skills: Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
The Purchasing Planning Analyst must have demonstrated leadership and communication skills with applied experience working in a team / project environment. Problem identification and problem-solving skills are necessary to ensure that the Purchasing department's new model project targets are consistently met.
