Responsibilities
- 1. Reviews all EKGs for demographic accuracy and tracing quality.
- 1.1 Reviews all EKGs for accurate and mandatory demographic information including Name, MRN #, and DOB. Edits all files as necessary.
- 2. Responsible for the timely download of EKGs for interpretation.
- 2.1 Uploads all EKGs to appropriate physician queue for interpretation on a daily basis.
- 3. Demonstrates commitment to coworkers, department and hospital through general standards of professional conduct to facilitate the efficient and smooth operation of the department.
- 3.1 When requested, employee is willing to work overtime or to adjust personal schedule to accommodate the unanticipated needs of the department as noted by the supervisor.
- 4. Ensures the successful execution of customer service standards reflecting excellence consistent with Hospital policy for internal/external customers.
- 4.1 Attends all training necessary to remain up to date with all upgrades and procedural changes to minimize interruption of workflow
- 5. Maintains EKG Services in accordance with standards established by such state, local and federal standards such as TJC (The Joint Commission), OSHA, NRC and HIPAA
- 5.1 Responsible for adherence to standards set by TJC, DPH, OSHA, and other regulatory organizations.
- 6. Coordinates the ordering of Hill Rom beds.
- 6.1 Match SCM orders to Hill Rom bed orders
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Graduation from high school or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of two (2) years of EKG training and experience in a clinical practice setting, i.e. CNA, PCA., MA

SPECIAL SKILLS
Excellent knowledge of EKG procedures and techniques. Ability to coordinate the flow of clinical information through the entire work flow and manage multiple priorities. Must have excellent clinical, organizational and communication skills. Must have knowledge of and be proficient in the operation and use of computer-based information systems, to facilitate all aspects of care delivery.
