What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator-1st Shift position at Yale Cordage Inc.?
Hours:
1st Shift: 7am-3:30pm
General Summary:
We are a manufacturer of high performance ropes (ropes capable of lifting 50-70 tons). We are looking for first shift machine operators in our Twisting Department. You will be expected to cross train after gaining proficiency on the machines in your department.
Essential Job Functions:
- Operates all twisting, winding, and braiding machines.
- Responsible for retrieving and following an electronic schedule on a daily basis.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following 6S standards.
- Operate the machine according to specific process documentation.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks independently.
- Ability to identify problems with products and/or machinery and report it immediately.
- Maintain paperwork to ensure inventory and production schedules are up to date.
- Follow machine specific preventive maintenance schedules.
- Performs quality control functions by inspecting, identifying and reporting variances in yarn quality.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in manufacturing environment a plus.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude a plus.
- Ability to lift 70 lbs. repeatedly.
- Ability to bend, stand, kneel, twist, pull and work overhead.
- Ability to follow detailed operating instructions and perform basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
- Knowledge of Company quality assurance expectations and packaging requirements.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
