- This role involves working closely with staff to provide instructional, behavioral, and physical support to students in various educational settings.
Minimum Qualifications

- High School diploma or GED
- Experience working with students of various ages
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision
- Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assist the teacher with instruction and activities within the classroom
- Supervise students on or about the school premises as assigned by the principal or designee
- Work as a member of a team of teachers and paraeducators
- Assist in maintaining records and process paperwork as needed
- Actively participate in staff development activities as requested
- Implement instructional and/or behavioral strategies developed by the teacher
- Communicate with parents
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Assist in lifting over 50 pounds
- May be required to toilet, diaper, feed, and lift (physical positioning)
- Other duties as assigned by the principal
- Monday-Friday
- Day Shift
- Pay $23.34-$33.59 per hour
- Individuals with an AA degree are eligible for a $75 monthly stipend upon submission of official transcripts.
- Individuals with a Bachelor Degree or higher are eligible for a $100 monthly stipend upon submission of official transcripts.
- Upon hiring, may qualify for reimbursement of fingerprinting expense.
- Qualifies for benefits under the Yakima Association of Paraeducators (YAP). All benefits are subject to the Association's Collective Bargaining Agreement for full-time employees.
