What You’ll Do
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized dish room and galley areas
- Collect, rinse, and properly rack dishware, glassware, utensils, and cookware
- Operate dish machines safely and according to procedure
- Wash and sanitize pots, pans, and large equipment using a 3-compartment sink
- Inspect all cleaned items for sanitation and proper storage readiness
- Monitor and replace chemical containers; ensure proper chemical levels
- Keep galley floors and workspaces clean through sweeping, mopping, trash removal
- Assist with cleaning dry storage and other galley areas
- Receive and store food and non-food supplies using FIFO practices
- Follow all health department and maritime sanitation standards
- Participate in safety drills; follow all vessel safety protocols
- Communicate professionally and support overall vessel operations as needed
- Basic knowledge of cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Comfortable working aboard moving vessels in tight spaces and dynamic environments
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as needed
- Ability to work onboard for 2–5 hour cruises; occasional extended shifts up to 12 hours
