Nashville Riverboats is seeking a dynamic and relationship-driven Sales Manager focused on Weddings & Social Events. This role is ideal for an energetic hospitality sales professional who thrives on creating memorable experiences, building strong client relationships, and driving revenue through weddings, celebrations, and large private social events.
About the Position
The Sales Manager – Weddings & Social Events will be responsible for generating and managing revenue opportunities related to weddings, rehearsal dinners, engagement parties, birthday celebrations, anniversaries, reunions, holiday parties, and other private social events. This individual will actively prospect new business, cultivate referral relationships, and guide clients through the event sales process from inquiry to booking.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow business within the weddings and social event markets
- Prospect new clients and maintain strong relationships with past and current clients
- Respond to inquiries, conduct venue tours, prepare proposals, and close business
- Build relationships with wedding planners, event coordinators, photographers, DJs, florists, hotels, and other local event industry partners
- Represent Nashville Riverboats at bridal shows, networking events, community events, and industry functions
- Develop referral partnerships and strategic relationships to increase visibility and drive private event bookings
- Collaborate with operations and onboard teams to ensure seamless event execution and exceptional guest experiences
- Maintain accurate records and reporting within our reservation/database system
- Stay informed on local wedding and social event trends, competitive offerings, and market opportunities
- Assist in developing creative sales initiatives, packages, and promotional opportunities to drive private event revenue
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of hospitality sales experience, preferably in weddings, catering, events, hotels, venues, or social event sales
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
- Strong relationship-building and customer service skills
- Excellent communication, organization, and negotiation skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment
- Experience attending bridal shows, networking events, and community outreach initiatives preferred
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-oriented
- Knowledge of the Nashville market is a plus
- Flexibility to occasionally work evenings, weekends, or attend events as needed
