The Strategic Support Manager serves as a critical link between ERG’s sales strategy, vendor partnerships, and strategically important customer accounts. This role is responsible for driving sales excellence, managing key relationships, and serving as a primary point of contact for high-value customers to ensure exceptional service, alignment, and growth. This individual will leverage strong business acumen, relationship management skills, and strategic vision to anticipate needs, influence outcomes, and deliver value across both internal stakeholders and external partners.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Strategic Account Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers.
- Build, maintain, and grow strong relationships by understanding customer needs and proactively delivering solutions.
- Prepare and deliver business reviews to customer decision-makers and senior sales leadership.
- Monitor and prospect large-scale projects involving strategic account customers and route opportunities to branch sales teams.
- Prospect and qualify new strategic accounts from existing branch relationships, dormant accounts, non-customers, and competitor accounts.
Vendor & Contract Management
- Develop, manage, and strengthen vendor relationships and contracts to support business objectives.
- Act as the internal single point of contact, ensuring a “One Face” approach to supplier engagement.
- Collaborate with leadership on vendor selection
Collaboration & Revenue Enablement
- Partner closely with Outside Sales Representatives and National Account Managers to drive both national and branch-level revenue growth.
- Support cross-functional teams by aligning procurement strategies with sales and operational goals.
- Utilize Salesforce.com and other CRM tools to track activity, increase productivity, and drive account performance.
- Communicate clearly and collaborate organization-wide to ensure transparency and alignment.
Data, Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze spend data, category usage, and performance trends to inform strategic decisions.
- Assess product quality and effectiveness to ensure alignment with operational needs.
- Develop and implement procurement standards, processes, and best practices.
- Act with urgency to resolve issues and continuously improve outcomes.
Job Requirements
