Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Teacher Associate to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will support classroom teachers in delivering engaging educational activities, managing classroom behavior, and creating a nurturing environment for young learners. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help lay a strong foundation for children's early learning experiences, ensuring they thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent required with the willingness to complete the CDA credentialing program within 18 months of hire
• AA in Early Childhood Education preferred

Duties:

• Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards such as Montessori and other pedagogies.
• Support children’s individual needs by providing personalized attention, mentoring, and tutoring to enhance literacy, math skills, and overall development.
• Maintain a safe and positive classroom environment through effective behavior management and child supervision.
• Use educational technologies and computers to facilitate interactive learning experiences.
• Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress and developmental milestones, fostering strong home-school connections.
• Support classroom organization by proofreading lesson plans, preparing materials, and ensuring compliance with educational regulations including the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
• Collaborate with teachers on behavior management strategies and classroom behavior management techniques to promote a respectful learning atmosphere.

Skills

• Experience working with children in early childhood education settings, including preschool or private school environments.
• Knowledge of special education needs, including experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism.
• Strong understanding of childhood development principles and childcare best practices.
• Excellent communication skills for effective parent communication and team collaboration.
• Classroom management expertise to foster a positive learning environment.
• Familiarity with educational compliance standards such as ESSA and state regulations.
• Proficiency in using computers and educational technologies to enhance instruction.
• First aid and CPR certification to ensure child safety at all times.
• Ability to proofread educational materials, provide tutoring or mentoring support, and adapt teaching strategies for diverse learners.

Pay: $15.10 - $17.07 per hour
