Lead Teacher

Qualifications:

AA or BA/BS Early Childhood Education, Human Services, or a related field preferred

Job Information:

• 40 hours/week; typically follows local school district calendar.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for providing a safe, healthy, stimulating learning environment that supports school readiness; conducting screening and ongoing assessment that leads to individualization; accurate recordkeeping and reporting; communicating with and collaborating with parents, co-workers, and community partners; respecting and supporting the role of parents as learners, and as advocates for and teachers of their children.

Duties:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans in accordance with the curriculum guidelines.
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.
- Create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Assess the individual needs of each child and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive learning experience.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to parents/guardians as necessary.
- Incorporate early literacy and math, small/large motor, and social/emotional lessons into daily activities.
- Promote positive behavior management techniques and implement behavioral health strategies using PBIS.
- Ensure compliance with child welfare regulations and maintain accurate records.

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles.
- Experience in implementing behavioral therapy techniques in a classroom setting.
- Proficiency in math concepts suitable for the target age group.
- Familiarity with physical education activities suitable for young children.
