Founded in 2015 at MIT by three physicists, XtalPi is the HKEX 18C inaugural listed tech leader (HKEX:2228) revolutionizing biopharmaceutical innovation through cutting-edge AI technology—delivering breakthroughs in small molecule drug development, including molecular glue platforms, and driving global access to life-changing therapies. With a proven track record of merging AI with precision science, we’re redefining how drugs are discovered, developed, and commercialized worldwide.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Global Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies for pipeline out-licensing and strategic collaborations across the U.S. and European markets, ensuring strict alignment with XtalPi’s global strategic goals and overall business objectives.
  2. High-Level Partnership Development: Identify, initiate, and cultivate deep, long-term strategic alliances with executive-level stakeholders at leading pharmaceutical, biotech, and healthcare companies in the U.S. and Europe. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of high-value partnerships to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
  3. Pipeline Commercialization & Out-Licensing: Lead end-to-end pipeline out-licensing efforts, including opportunity identification, partner screening, value proposition development, and deal structuring. Effectively communicate the scientific and commercial value of XtalPi’s AI-driven small molecule and molecular glue pipelines to potential partners.
  4. Market Insight & Opportunity Mapping: Proactively monitor and analyze market dynamics, industry trends, competitive landscapes, and regulatory developments in the U.S. and European biopharmaceutical sectors. Provide data-driven strategic recommendations to senior leadership to capitalize on emerging opportunities and mitigate risks.
  5. Strategic Negotiation & Deal Closure: Lead high-stakes negotiations for strategic partnerships, out-licensing agreements, and collaborative development deals. Ensure terms are mutually beneficial, protect the company’s intellectual property and long-term interests, and drive successful deal closure.
  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with research & development, legal, finance, marketing, and executive teams to ensure seamless execution of partnership strategies. Align internal resources to support deal diligence, contract finalization, and post-deal implementation.
  7. Industry Influence & Brand Building: Represent XtalPi at key industry conferences, forums, and executive events in the U.S. and Europe. Enhance the company’s brand visibility, thought leadership, and competitive advantage within the global biopharmaceutical ecosystem.

Qualifications

  1. Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, Ph.D.) is a plus.
  2. Professional Experience: Minimum of 8 years of business development experience in top-tier CROs, pharmas, or biotech companies.
  3. Domain Expertise: Proven track record of successful license-out deals and collaborations with top pharmaceuticals, particularly in molecular glue or other small molecule product platforms.
  4. Network & Resources: Extensive network, resources, or past experience engaging with leading pharmaceutical companies across the U.S. and Europe.
  5. Core Competencies: Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to conduct high-level executive discussions.
  6. Work Style: Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
