Summary
Equipment Operator supports warehouse operations by efficiently moving, picking, and storing products using powered industrial equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a cherry picker and using an RF scanner to manage inventory. This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment and inventory management.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Operate powered industrial equipment, primarily cherry pickers, in a safe and efficient manner
- Pick products from racking systems and transport them to the dock for shipment
- Put away inbound product by moving items from the dock to designated storage locations
- Accurately scan, pick, and put away items using an RF gun or handheld scanner
- Follow warehouse layout plans to ensure efficient product handling and inventory tracking
- Perform daily equipment safety checks and report any maintenance issues
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety standards.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle checks as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and MSDS standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
- Experience operating a cherry picker or similar equipment required.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and RF scanning technology.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights (up to 10 feet).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime if required.
- Current certification for operating powered industrial trucks (PIT). (preferred)
- Previous experience in a fast-paced distribution or logistics environment. (preferred)
Safety:
- Observe and follow health and safety regulations
- Enforces operating instructions and safety policies.
- Assist management in establishing warehouse standards and procedures
- Maintain detailed records of safety incidents
- Assign designated safety personnel
- Maintain warehouse in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
