Full-Time Hotel Room Attendant

Position Summary

The Hotel Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining clean, comfortable, and welcoming guest rooms and hotel areas while ensuring a positive guest experience. This position requires attention to detail, efficiency, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining hotel cleanliness and brand standards. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, works well independently, and contributes to a professional and friendly hotel environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and service guest rooms according to hotel brand standards and established housekeeping procedures.

• Make beds, change linens, replace towels, and replenish guest room amenities and supplies.

• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, showers, sinks, mirrors, and floors.

• Dust furniture, vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors, and clean other room surfaces.

• Inspect guest rooms to ensure cleanliness, proper presentation, and readiness for arriving guests.

• Report maintenance issues, damaged items, missing items, and safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor.

• Follow procedures for handling lost and found items.

• Maintain cleanliness in hallways, housekeeping storage areas, and other assigned areas.

• Use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies safely and according to hotel procedures.

• Follow hotel policies regarding guest privacy, key security, and entry into occupied rooms.

• Respond courteously and professionally to guest requests and communicate any concerns to management.

• Complete assigned rooms within established time expectations while maintaining quality standards.

• Assist with laundry, linen handling, and other housekeeping duties as assigned.

• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable brand standards.

• Work cooperatively with housekeeping, front desk, maintenance, and other hotel team members.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous hotel housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred but not required.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.

• Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks efficiently.

• Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance.

• Positive attitude and professional behavior when interacting with guests and coworkers.

• Ability to follow instructions, established procedures, and hotel standards.

• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.

• Ability to push housekeeping carts and handle linens and cleaning supplies.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work Environment

This position works primarily in guest rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and housekeeping areas within an operating hotel. The role involves regular physical activity, use of cleaning products, and interaction with hotel staff and guests.

Performance Expectations

The Hotel Room Attendant is expected to maintain high cleanliness standards, complete assigned rooms efficiently, follow hotel procedures, protect guest privacy, report maintenance concerns promptly, and contribute to guest satisfaction and overall hotel performance.
