Specific Job Duties
- Initiate machine processes, make adjustments within process tolerances, and recommend changes for improved efficiency.
- Continually monitor all processes related to production machinery to ensure equipment is running at optimal efficiency (laser cutting, urethane/soft foam molding, waterjet, vacform, vibration welders, secondary equipment, punch press, paint line, robotics, sonic welder, etc.).
- Participate in analyzing and resolving process, equipment, and tooling issues.
- Assist in the set-up and start-up of new tools, equipment, and materials for trials.
- Assist with the set-up and maintenance of production equipment, including waterjet, vacform, vibration welders, secondary equipment, punch press, paint line, robotics, sonic welder, etc.
- Assist machine operators as required to troubleshoot issues.
- Conduct regular and periodic monitoring of product for acceptable quality and conformance to current specifications.
- Ensure process parameters are followed and troubleshoot any engineering or equipment-related issues across the facility.
- Work with limited supervision and maintain an atmosphere of cooperation among and between shifts and departments.
- Train and oversee Process Technicians on each shift.
Education Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in a technical field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of related experience in engineering, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Must have experience processing.
- Excellent computer and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience with urethane and robotics is preferred.
