ESSENTIAL DUTIES/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Foster the Christian uniqueness of the learning community
• Maintain required trainings as required by the State of Iowa, DHS, Archdiocese, and local site
• Adhere to the teaching standards
• Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
• Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures  
• Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school  
• Provide appropriate feedback on work 
• Participate in problem solving process to ensure needs of students are being met
• Differentiate instruction to address the needs of individual students
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development 
• Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws and school policies and regulations 
• Participate in department, school, and parent meetings
• Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs 
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities 
• Prepare classroom for class activities 
• Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities
• Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments
• Maintain confidentiality with work-related matters
• Promote positive public relations through interactions with the community
• Work collaboratively with the school principal, Booster Club, Parent Association as needed
• Work towards continuous quality improvement including the use of new technologies and equipment
• Uphold, support, and promote all school policies and procedures
• Accept and provide effective supervision, assignments, change and correction
