What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Plant Operations position at X-Factor Consulting?
Our client is seeking a Plant Operations Director for an excellent on-site opportunity, in the Bryan, Ohio area. Responsibilities include:
- Own site P&L and lead the operational transformation across safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, and reliability.
- Lead from the shop floor through daily Gemba, coaching, and fast corrective action
- Run daily, weekly, and monthly operating reviews with stakeholders.
- Improve output, schedule attainment, labor productivity, conversion cost, on-time delivery, uptime, and working capital.
- Deploy standard work, visual management, root-cause problem solving, and continuous improvement.
- Tighten planning, material flow, inventory transactions, routing accuracy, and work-order control.
- Partner with internal teams on BOMs, routings, quoting inputs, and margin.
- Drive accountability for operational effectiveness.
- Lead equipment reliability, PM compliance, critical spares, downtime reduction, and capital priorities.
- Develop supervisors and frontline leaders while holding high standards for safety, attendance, and work discipline.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s in industrial engineering, operations, business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
- 10 years of progressive manufacturing leadership with plant or multi-department operations ownership.
- Proven experience leading operational transformation and change management.
- Industrial manufacturing background strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success deploying Lean, Operational Excellence, or a comparable operating system.
- Strong command of planning, maintenance, quality, labor productivity, cost control, inventory, and conversion cost.
- Practical and credible hands-on leader who is structured and persistent in closing gaps.
- Experience using ERP and operating data to improve execution and financial results.
- Ability to lead hourly and salaried teams through change.
- Military leadership experience strongly preferred.
Salary : $150,000 - $180,000
