Job title: HAZOPS Engineer
Location: Luling, TX (onsite)
- Conduct hazard analyses using methodologies like FMEA, HAZOP, and What-If Analysis.
- Develop and implement controls for hazards identified.
- Provide technical expertise on hazardous materials and processes.
- Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering
Responsibilities:
- Perform complex hazards analysis assignments in support of the development, testing, and manufacturing of hazardous materials
- Apply physics-based approach to risk identification and mitigation
- Support concept, design, and process hazards analyses in response to contract data item requirements and regulatory needs
- Provide a basis for safety waivers and regulatory interpretation and deviation.
- Often function in a consulting and SME role as it relates to the risks associated with design and development of product and processes using highly hazardous materials
- Work across multiple organizations to establish policies and procedures focused on risk reduction and hazard control
- Qualifications:
- BS Engineering or Physics minimum
- 8 year experience with energetic materials minimum
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communicator and team leader
- Strong working knowledge MIL-STD-882, DoD4145, OSHA, and NFPA Regulation
