What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Writer II position at Wyoming Machinery Company?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Opens work orders and segments via the DBS system
- Manage work orders; this includes creating packets, component tracking, reviewing for completion, and closing
- Verifies completion of service reports prior to handing off for approval
- Monitors and reports on the work in process for all areas of the Service Department
- Interacts with customers to obtain purchase orders and provide information
- Must maintain a reliable flow of communication between the customer and all WMC personnel for work order process flow
- Answers telephone and transfers calls
- File and maintains records
- Assists with timecard entry and reconciliation for payroll
- Creates memos, letters, and spreadsheets as needed
- May be involved in special projects such as capital budget or operating statement coding
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum two years’ experience in service shop support position
- Experience with work order and database applications
- Proficient data entry capabilities.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Proficient in use of a desktop computer, including Microsoft Office products, AS400 system and calculator, telephone, fax machine, copy machine and printer.
- Ability to work with customers in a professional manner and develop/maintain relationships
- Office environment; moderate noise level
- Material and equipment directly used: Computer terminals, personal computer, calculator, telephone, fax machine, copy machine, and printers.
- Ability to walk up and down stairs.
- Frequent sitting/standing for long periods using a computer
- Frequent use of hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and writing and typing
- Overtime and varying schedules may be required
- Professional dress code is required.
