Wyoming County is seeking an experienced, progressive, and highly collaborative correctional professional to serve as Warden of the Wyoming County Correctional Facility. This is a full-time, non-union position with full benefits. All applicants must be able to pass all required clearances.

The County is committed to maintaining a safe, secure, professional, and constitutionally sound correctional environment while continuing to strengthen operations, staff development, inmate services, and organizational effectiveness. The Warden will play a critical leadership role in advancing these goals through effective communication, strategic planning, operational excellence, and strong partnerships with the Wyoming County Prison Board, County leadership, criminal justice stakeholders, facility staff, and community partners.

The Wyoming County Correctional Facility is a county-operated detention facility with an authorized capacity of approximately 78 inmates. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of modern correctional operations, inmate classification systems, staff development, correctional standards, inmate medical and mental health services, risk management, and organizational leadership.

The Warden serves as the chief executive officer of the correctional facility and is responsible for the overall administration, management, and strategic direction of all facility operations. The position reports directly to the Wyoming County Prison Board and serves as the Board's principal advisor regarding correctional operations, staffing, facility needs, policy development, risk management, inmate care, and long-range planning.

The Warden is expected to maintain a strong and productive working relationship with the Prison Board through timely communication, regular reporting, operational transparency, and the presentation of meaningful information necessary for informed governance and decision-making. The successful candidate must be able to translate complex correctional issues into clear operational, fiscal, and strategic recommendations.

In addition to overseeing daily operations, the Warden will be responsible for fostering a positive organizational culture, developing future leaders, strengthening recruitment and retention efforts, promoting staff accountability, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and standards, and implementing continuous operational improvements.

This position requires a leader who is comfortable balancing operational demands with strategic planning, who values collaboration and communication, and who is committed to building trust throughout the organization and the broader criminal justice community.
