Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Unit Manager LPN or RN to oversee clinical operations within a dynamic healthcare environment. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care across diverse units including medical-surgical, geriatrics, pediatrics, or behavioral health.
- Oversee patient assessment procedures, vital signs monitoring, and medical documentation ensuring adherence to HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with physicians and specialists for diagnostic evaluations, medication administration, IV infusion, catheterization.
- Manage clinical workflows utilizing EMR/EHR systems
- Facilitate discharge planning, case management, utilization review/management, and ensure proper intake processes for diverse patient populations including those with dementia care or developmental disabilities.
- Ensure infection control practices, sterile processing techniques, aseptic methods, and equipment sterilization are maintained at all times.
- Monitor compliance with accreditation standards such as QAPI standards and manage staffing schedules to optimize resource allocation.
- Support quality improvement initiatives focusing on acute pain management, infection prevention, nutrition plans, and patient safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a leadership role within healthcare settings such as hospital medicine, , emergency medicine, or long-term care facilities.
- Extensive clinical background including familiarity with ICD-9/10 coding, CPT coding
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to medication administration and pain management.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems
- Demonstrated supervisory skills in managing multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure environments
- Ability to perform patient assessments involving vital signs measurement and physical examinations; experience working with vulnerable populations
- Knowledge of infection control practices including sterile technique and specimen collection/processing.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology necessary for accurate documentation and communication.
