About the Role
The Senior Manager, EHS will play a critical role in preventing business interruptions or product quality issues by establishing and maintaining a comprehensive management system while managing all aspects of environmental regulations relevant to waste and emissions generation.
Responsibilities
- Prevent Business Interruptions or product quality issues in supportive or direct roles by establishing and maintaining a comprehensive management system.
- Manage all aspects of environmental regulations relevant to waste and emissions generation, wastewater, storm water.
- Serve as a direct line to senior management for consultation of regulatory compliance issues related to EHS.
- Provide a leadership role to all functional departments and provide guidance for the development of best practices and foster an atmosphere of positive cross functional collaboration.
- Be the SME and point of contact for all areas of EHS.
- Direct members within your own team to the safe, effective and efficient execution of all aspects of EHS and play a supportive role in their development and growth within the organization.
- Provide a safe and productive work environment for employees.
- Develop and manage employee medical surveillance programs.
- Develop and deliver timely and cost-effective safety initiatives for the betterment of the company and wellbeing of its employees.
- Lead or participate in Business Continuity planning.
- Strong understanding of OSHA, NFPA, CRTK, GHS, NIOSH, NJDEP, COI, DEA, PSM, DOT including but not limited to NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910 and 1026, CFR 40, 49 and 21.
- Develop programs for areas within chemical hygiene, biological safety and facilities safety management with a focus on employee participation and management support.
- Provide detailed and clear information to various tiers of leadership.
- Develop or support emergency management drills.
- Manage site life safety systems.
- Develop and track meaningful and measurable KPIs related to all relevant aspects of EHS.
- Develop accurate budget spends within EHS.
- Lead RCFA and CAPA efforts and administer lessons learned and communicate all pertinent information for the prevention of a silo effect of site activities.
- Demonstrate leadership skills by way of both, a show by doing, and the management of others, for the prevention of environmental incidents, the mitigation of employee injury or illness and property damage.
- Lead workers’ compensation efforts and effectively communicate as necessary with other department leads including HR.
- Direct and support EHS activities related to chemical/biologics management, feasibility of use review for materials brought on site.
- Develop and support collaborative functions including Biological Safety Committee, Safety Coordinator activities.
- Develop and support sustained cost and energy reduction initiatives.
- Develop and support Lab and MFG services for EHS consumable and waste generation on site.
- Craft, maintain and modify EHS related documentation as necessary.
- Develop and maintain a compliance calendar for all areas of EHS and meet all regulatory reporting requirements at the local state and federal levels.
- Provide effective training both in person and read and understand varieties and maintain all pertinent records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or 10 years’ experience in the fields of Environmental Science, Occupational Safety.
- Knowledge of RCRA, Air and Wastewater Regulations, Certifications from BCSP or similar organization.
Salary range for this position is 105K-168K.
