Performs research-grade cardiac and vascular ultrasound studies and/or other related cardiovascular examinations for research purposes. Responsibilities include performance and analysis of studies, entry into electronic database, digital storage and retrieval of studies and billing for services provided.**We will also consider candidates interested in a part-time role of approximately 30 hours per week.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Acquires images and/or performs interpretation of cardiac and vascular ultrasound examinations.
Performs non-imaging cardiac and/or vascular examinations which may include, but are not limited to, measurement of vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, height, weight), vascular stiffness exam, ankle-brachial index, electrocardiography, six-minute walk tests and placement of ambulatory blood pressure and holter monitors.
Collects a limited amount of cardiovascular history (eg. cardiovascular history, medications, pertinent comorbidities, etc.) and records on data collection forms.
Assists in the collection, storage and management of research data including data entry into an electronic database and appropriate storage of data collection forms.
Performs scheduling and maintains a testing calendar for the Cardiovascular Imaging and Clinical Research Core Laboratory (“Core Lab”).
Coordinates research subject services for investigators in other divisions, departments and/or clinics/hospitals.
Assists with the billing of research services provided; generates monthly billing reports.
Performs phlebotomy and processes blood products for appropriate storage.
Performs intravenous catheter insertion and administration of intravenous contrast.
Travels to other institutions as required for training/certification for research studies.
Strictly adheres to HIPAA, HRPO and other WU guidelines.
Assists research team in data analysis and presentation.
Monitors supplies and equipment, including maintenance and service contracts.
Assists with back-up of research images and data.
Assists with the completion of compliance documents, including preparation of new, renewal and amended HRPO protocols, Billing Matrix entries and funding agency progress reports.
Assists physicians in presenting echocardiographic images as part of audiovisual presentations (I.e., PowerPoint Presentations).
Participates in continued professional development, attends educational programs, in-services and meetings as needed to maintain appropriate professional credentialing (BLS, ACLS [when appropriate], professional CME, etc.).
Obtains informed consent from research subjects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
