Corporate Controller

WTTW (Chicago PBS) and WFMT (classical music radio station) are looking for a Corporate Controller to lead the accounting operations of the organization, ensuring accurate and timely financial information for the purposes of internal and external reporting and compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Supervise finance/accounting staff

·         Propose accounting process improvements

·         Recommend, implement, and maintain accounting policies and controls

·         Work with accounting firm to prepare annual tax returns

·         Prepare financial statements and regulatory information including divisional schedules and/or statements

·         Plan and implement annual audits with independent external auditors

·         Assist FP&A team with any accounting data requests

·         File timely financial regulatory reports

·         Manage accounting for endowment and other financial assets

·         FCC Compliance Officer

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Mastery of accounting principles as it relates to financial reporting and GAAP

·         Organized and detail oriented

·         Expert user of Microsoft Excel and other office products

·         Oracle NetSuite proficiency preferred but not required

·         Solutions-oriented mindset

·         Customer-service oriented

·         Ability to work cross-functionally and across various levels of management

·         Flexibility in work schedule; 3 days in office minimum

EXPERIENCE:

•       5 years or more of supervisory experience

•       7 years or more of accounting/finance experience with at least 5 years of experience in a controller capacity

•       Media and/or content company experience preferred

•       Non-profit experience required

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in accounting. CPA preferred. 

ESTIMATED SALARY RANGE: starting at $100,000 - $150,000/annual
