Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Form Carpenter Concrete Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing precise concrete finishing and formwork tasks that bring construction projects to life. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately set up formwork and plan concrete finishing procedures.
- Construct, install, and dismantle concrete forms using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment to shape structures according to specifications.
- Perform rebar installation and reinforcement work to strengthen concrete elements in compliance with safety standards.
- Finish concrete surfaces by smoothing, leveling, troweling, and applying textures or coatings for a polished appearance.
- Operate concrete mixers, pumps, and other machinery safely and efficiently on construction sites.
- Conduct heavy lifting of materials and equipment while maintaining proper safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members on renovation, restoration, or new construction projects to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of tools, machinery, and construction equipment used in formwork and concrete finishing.
- Proficiency in construction estimating and reading blueprints or schematics for accurate project execution.
- Experience with rebar installation, metal stud framing, masonry, plastering, stucco application, roofing, flooring installation, tile laying, and caulking.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as hammers, chisels, trowels; power tools including drills and saws; heavy equipment operation like forklifts or cranes when necessary.
- Knowledge of concrete forming techniques and concrete pouring processes including pumping operations.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining physical endurance on demanding construction sites.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading for layout planning and schematic interpretation for complex projects.
- Experience in commercial driving or operating heavy machinery is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong understanding of safety standards related to construction site activities including welding, framing carpentry, metal stud framing, caulking, trim carpentry, restoration work, and roofing tasks.
