What are the responsibilities and job description for the SSIA - Student Support Instructional Assistant position at Wright Elementary School District?
We are a small, diverse, public elementary school in southwest Santa Rosa, California, with a very friendly reputation and wonderful students and staff!
We are seeking candidates for Student Support Instructional Assistant (SSIA - also known as: Special Education Student Assistant or Paraprofessional or Paraeducator) positions.
Pay is for 6 hours per day/30 hours per week. Shift is 6.5 hours per day, roughly 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes one 1/2 hour unpaid lunch break.
SSIA's help teachers and students with their tasks, and may be assigned to work with students individually or in small groups within the classroom setting. They also help with yard and recess supervision. SSIA's help meet student I.E.P. guidelines.
Assignments may be 1:1 , small group intervention, and/or speech services support. Assignments may be at more than one campus.
Requirements:
- AA degree, 48 units college or more, or student aide proficiency certification (available through the district by examination of basic skills in math and english)
- POPP medical clearance (paid for by district)
- Fingerprint clearance - DOJ and FBI (paid for by district)'
- CPR/1st Aide Training
- Mandated Trainings
