What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Forklift Operator 2nd Shift position at WP Rawl?
We are looking for a careful Forklift Operator for our Fresh Cut Greens department, 2nd shift (12am-8am) to move packages and material around our facility. You will be operating a forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. Your job could involve driving around the production floor, warehouses, and storage spaces throughout the facility. You must be a responsible individual with great experience in driving industrial vehicles. The goal will be to ensure that material and products will always be at the right place to achieve maximum efficiency.
Job Responsibilities:
- Moving of palletized material using a forklift, including into the “out” multi-level racking and semi-tractor trailers.
- Ensure proper rotation of product and adhere to prescribed inventory control practices by bringing product to the line using oldest product first.
- Stacking and labeling of boxes on 40x48” wood pallets according to customer specifications, making sure pallets are secure and wrapped properly.
- Comply with safety regulations governing the operation of the equipment.
- Stacking and Lifting
- Complete daily preventive maintenance check form on all equipment driven.
- Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
- May be required to sit for long periods of the day
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment.
- Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records.
- Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
- Maintain a clean & safe environment
- Ability to work in a cold environment
- Clean driving record and a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license may be required
- Forklift certification per OSHA standards
Environment includes an expansive refrigerated production and warehouse area, where the temperature averages 34-38 degrees Fahrenheit.

- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Vision Required – Long Vision and Strong Depth Perception.
- Heavy Forklift Traffic
- Position requires standing, walking and bending on a regular basis on concrete flooring
