What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plastic Injection Process Technician position at WP Manufacturing?
The Process Technician is responsible for optimizing all aspects of the plastic injection molding process. This includes start-ups, troubleshooting, documenting processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to ensure production efficiency and quality standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Process Technician in plastic injection molding
- Strong data analysis skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving ability
- Good manual dexterity
- Experience with Mold Qualifications (IQ/OQ/PQ, PPAP)
- Knowledge of Scientific Molding principles
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend and contribute to shift change meetings with key updates and action plans
- Develop, document, and maintain molding tolerances
- Complete daily "Production Reports" accurately and on time
- Train and oversee Set-up Technicians to ensure adherence to process standards
- Collaborate with Quality, Tooling, and Account Management teams on process and part qualifications
- Analyze machine performance data and existing set-ups to identify and implement improvements
- Expand knowledge of materials and molding techniques on an ongoing basis
- Perform daily machine start-ups and process verifications
- Serve as a backup for Set-up Technicians as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
