Description
Worthmann Roofing & Gutters is hiring a Production Manager to own the flow of every job from sold to final payment. This is the air traffic control seat for our production department — you'll direct Project Managers, Site Superintendents, and the Permitting Coordinator to keep jobs moving, on schedule, and on margin.
This is a roofing and exterior production role, not a warehouse or shipping/receiving position. We need someone who has run crews and job sites in the field, not managed inventory from behind a desk.
What You'll Own
- Production pipeline: monitor every job's status (permitting, ordering, scheduling) and keep nothing stuck past threshold
- Resource allocation across Project Managers and Site Superintendents so no one is over-capacity
- Weekly production KPI review: throughput (squares installed), cycle time, safety incidents, and rework/go-backs
- Permitting oversight: NOCs filed, permits pulled before materials arrive, no open permits left behind
- Budget accountability: audit job budgets to protect gross profit margin and catch margin creep early
- Crew and subcontractor strategy: maintain a bench of qualified crews and standardize pay-per-square rates
- Safety authority: stop any job site on the spot if protocols aren't being followed
- Vendor relationships with material suppliers to protect priority delivery and pricing
- Direct, professional handling of irate or escalated customer situations — you're the final word when a job goes sideways
What You Bring
- Roofing, siding, exterior remodeling, or construction production management background — field experience required
- Proven ability to build and manage job schedules across multiple active projects at once
- Strong multitasker with high attention to detail; nothing falls through the cracks on your watch
- Experience managing crews and subcontractors, including performance and safety accountability
- Comfortable and composed handling upset customers and resolving issues on the spot
- Working knowledge of safety standards, building codes, and inspection/permitting processes
- Spanish-speaking a plus — our install crews include Spanish-speaking teams
- Experience with AccuLynx or a similar construction/CRM platform is a plus
Benefits & Compensation
Health, Dental, Visions 401K with company contribution
Base salary: $80,000 – $90,000, commensurate with experience
Performance bonus: 2% of production revenue over KPI target, with annual bonus potential of $20,000 – $50,000
