The Quality Auditor is responsible for inspecting glass vials for both minor and major defects, performing audits on production processes, and ensuring adherence to written specifications. This role requires strong interpersonal communication with operators and packers, as well as proficiency in reading technical drawings and using measuring equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Auditing and Documentation
- Review and audit:
- Paperwork
- Drawings (DWGs)
- Routings
- Operator and packer packets
- Operator logbooks
- Vision system data
- Length gauges (hot end)
- Inspect and verify pallet configuration, labeling, sealing, and taping
Materials and Product Handling
- Verify packaging and glass materials
- Check and use quality gauges
- Monitor and control raw materials in the pack room
Product Inspection
- Inspect all DWG dimensions
- Distinguish acceptable vs. rejectable ware using standards and gauges
- Ensure finished product is accurately labeled and shrink-wrapped
- Confirm correct pallet configurations and work ticket adherence
Support Duties
- Provide break and absenteeism coverage
- Assist with sorting and supporting packers
- Perform routine "Floor Person" tasks
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with:
- Packers
- Operators
- Material Handling
- Quality and Safety Departments
- Communicate effectively, using active listening and constructive feedback
- Educate operators and packers on quality standards when needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and interpret product drawings and work tickets
- Willingness and ability to work overtime when required
- Reliable attendance
