Medical / Church Planter-Senegal

Use your experience and training in the field of medicine to do church planting that holistically ministers to the people of Senegal. Share the gospel with those that you connect with and help them to grow spiritually.

Are you interested in forming discipleship relationships through your medical skills? We are looking for people with medical training and experience to join our holistic church planting teams working in Senegal.

This role will benefit the spiritual, physical, and economic well-being of local communities. Working collaboratively, the ideal candidate will provide medical care in their domain that will bless a local unreached community.

The ideal candidate will have

• Training or experience in Muslim ministry, evangelism, and discipleship
• A heart to focus on the spiritual journey of people while addressing their physical realities
• Training or experience in the medical field (such as midwifery, nursing, community health, dentistry, etc.), and a willingness and ability to adapt that to the local realities.
• Good language learning skills
• Grit: ability to live in a challenging environment. Senegal is hot and dry for half the year, while in the rainy season the desert blooms, but travel becomes more difficult. Many of the comforts of the developed world are nonexistent, intermittent, or expensive. However, the unreached people are very hospitable, and the government is appreciative of missionaries.
  
  

This role will involve serving the local people, developing good relationships with all stakeholders, resulting in opportunities to share the gospel individually and as a team.

• Learn the local language to facilitate deep interpersonal relationships with an unreached people group.
• Collaborate well with teammates and national church missionaries and leaders to develop strong relationships with an unreached people group as a platform for sharing the gospel.
• Develop good relationships with local leaders to learn about local challenges and needs, serving the community with your expertise.
• Partner well with the national church’s medical work, other medical initiatives, and government officials to promote good medical care. An intermediate level of French will be needed to accomplish this.
