What are the responsibilities and job description for the Apprentice Painter position at World Class Finish?
Company Overview
World Class Finish is a premier custom automotive restoration shop based in Uniontown, Ohio. We don't just fix cars; we build automotive masterpieces. From frame-off restorations to full custom paint work on six-figure builds, every project that leaves our shop is a testament to craftsmanship, passion, and an uncompromising eye for detail. Our team of skilled artisans operates at the intersection of old-school technique and modern precision, and we're looking for someone who wants to be part of that legacy.
Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and eager Apprentice Painter to join our dynamic team. This paid apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in vehicle restoration projects. This is a rare opportunity to work directly alongside our master painter, learning the craft from the inside out. Whether you're coming in with existing paint experience or you're eager to develop your skills in a world-class shop environment, we want to hear from you!
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist the master painter on both collision-based and high-end custom and restoration paint projects.
- Prep vehicles for paint — including sanding, masking, priming, and surface finishing
- Learn and apply professional painting techniques under direct mentorship.
- Perform post-paint detail work, including buffing, polishing, and final inspection before customer delivery.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment through general shop duties and daily cleanup.
- Support other shop operations as needed. This is a hands-on, get-it-done environment.
Requirements & Qualifications
(People without automotive experience will be ignored)
- A genuine passion for cars and the automotive industry. This isn't just a job, it's a craft.
- Previous experience in an automotive setting (body shop, detail shop, dealership, or similar)
- An exceptional eye for detail. Our builds are six-figure investments, and quality is non-negotiable.
- Ability to follow instructions precisely and maintain high standards throughout every stage of a project
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn.
- Previous painting or body work experience is a strong plus, but not required — we will train the right person.
- Ability to perform physical shop tasks including lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in various conditions.
Skills & Growth
- Professional vehicle prep — from bare metal to paint-ready surface.
- Advanced painting techniques used on custom and restoration builds.
- Post-paint detailing: cut, buff, polish, and final finish inspection.
- Shop safety standards and best practices in a professional restoration environment.
- Industry knowledge from one of Ohio's top custom automotive restoration shops.
If you're interested in this opportunity and have a true passion for cars, please apply! We look forward to hearing from you.
