Position Summary
The Business Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial and human resource
functions of the school. This role ensures efficient business operations, compliance with
regulations, and alignment with the school’s mission and strategic goals. The Business Manager
works closely with school leadership to support decision-making and maintain a safe, effective
learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
Develop and manage the school’s annual budget in collaboration with CFO and
administration
Monitor revenues and expenditures; prepare regular monthly financial reports
Process Bi-Weekly payroll via ADP
Process all aspects of Accounts payable and Accounts Receivable
Manage contracts, vendor relationships, and service agreements
Human Resources (HR) Functions
- Support onboarding of staff
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with employment laws and policies
- Coordinate benefits administration, including health insurance, 401K, and leave tracking
- Ensure staff certifications, background checks, and required training are up to date
- Develop and update HR policies and procedures in alignment with school guidelines
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and personnel information
Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide strategic recommendations related to budgeting, staffing, and operations
- Communicate effectively with staff, families, vendors, and community partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, ,Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in business, finance, or accounting (school setting preferred)
- Knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and HR practices
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with financial (Quickbooks) and HR software systems such as ADP
- Familiarity with FACTS tuition system is a plus
