The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing skilled maintenance, repair, and inspection work on a wide range of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure as well as ensure facility grounds are safe and well maintained. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the physical environments of the organization remain safe, functional, and compliant with regulatory standards, directly supporting patient care, staff operations, and public safety. Maintenance Mechanic is an onsite position.
Essential Functions
Education: High school diploma or GED
License: Valid driver’s license with proof of insurance
Experience: Three (3) years’ facility experience in one of the following areas: mechanical, electrical, structural groundskeeping, steam, or automation controls

Maintenance Mechanic is an onsite position.
Essential Functions
- Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, structural, lawn maintenance, snow removal, steam, and automation equipment to ensure optimal functioning and continuous operation of all facilities.
- Install, maintain, and repair doors, frames, locks, access controls, windows, screens, closers, hold-open devices, and fire-rated assemblies to maintain security, safety, and building accessibility.
- Read blueprints, specification books, and technical manuals to determine proper repair procedures and acquire required materials to complete tasks efficiently and in compliance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Perform scheduled safety and equipment inspections using standard protocols, documenting findings and corrective actions to support a safe, compliant, and well-maintained environment.
- Maintain, repair, and perform safety testing on patient care equipment including carts, wheelchairs, and nurse call systems to ensure equipment reliability and patient safety.
- Respond promptly to daily service requests, emergency calls, weather-related needs, and on-call responsibilities while maintaining clear communication with hospital staff and supervisors to support continuous facility operations and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain facility grounds by performing all the seasonal activities required. Ensure all outdoor areas are clean, safe and well-presented.
- Prepare, prevent, protect and respond to support our culture of safety. Works hours per week in accordance with offer letter or per attributes of position at transfer request. May be expected to work longer hours as necessary.
