Warehouse Supervisor
JOB PURPOSE:
Provide leadership and direction to the Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse department in areas of responsibility including day-to-day production and quality in the department. Managing shipping, receiving, scheduling, quality, safety, and environmental functions. Perform functions to assist with the operation of the shipping and receiving department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead daily shift meeting, communicating on safety, daily expectations, and other updates as applicable.
- Assure that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained.
- Model and support safe operations and a strong safety culture with adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
- Manage daily activities of storage and distribution locations.
- Maintain control of all assigned inventory, with prompt resolution of identified discrepancies.
- Lead and support inventory count, accuracy, and FIFO in warehouse.
- Arrange to have appropriate records prepared and maintained.
- Ensure efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of processes, and elimination of wasteful practices in the department.
- Communicate efficiently and effectively with Customer Support, customers, carriers and vendors.
- Monitor quality standards and reporting thereof.
- Ensure coordination of special mailings and quality assurance.
- Study and standardize procedures to ensure the timely, accurate, and efficient processing of all department functions.
- Troubleshoot problems and issues, develop, recommend, and initiate action steps that provide resolution to achieve positive results.
- Aid in the development and implementation of process control improvements within the departments for cost savings and employee efficiencies.
- Proactively support continuous improvement initiatives and activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned and needed.
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the talent acquisition process, collaborate with Human Resources to provide unbiased feedback focused on candidate qualifications, and consistently consider alignment with company mission, vision, and values.
- Provide an onboarding experience that allows employees to learn, develop, and acclimate to the company culture.
- Utilize results against goals to identify continuous improvement opportunities and communicate with those to all departments.
- Plan, establish, and communicate work schedules, assignments, and expectations to employees.
- Monitor and process employee attendance records/timecards and PTO in a timely manner.
- Work collaboratively with team and other departments to troubleshoot and implement actions that yield positive results.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Continued education in supply chain management or equivalent experience.
Experience and/or Training:
- 3 years of experience in a warehouse environment.
- 1 year Forklift Driving experience.

Technology/Equipment: Proficiency working in Microsoft Office Suite.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
Standing for the working hours of each shift, 10 hours daily. Walking in the Production department to different areas of work. Speaking, hearing, seeing. Listen and observe the environment for hazard prevention. Use hands for tools. Regularly lift 30-50 lbs. throughout shift. Team-lift as specified by leadership.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Indoor working environment, hot in Summer, temperature controlled in Winter. Moving machinery, i.e. forklifts, moveable carts, etc. Uneven ground where cart tracks are identified. Air quality may be dusty and potentially require additional PPE in certain areas. Sound level below 85 decibels except in areas specified as requiring hearing protection.
