A small local construction company is growing and they are seeking an Excavation Foreman who also has experience as an equipment operator. This position would assist with excavation, grading, underground pipe installation for residential and public projects, home site dig outs, and onsite project management.
Minimum Requirements:
-2 years experience operating excavators, skid steers and knowledge of underground utilities.
-Valid Driver license and insurable driving record to drive a company truck.
-Ability to manage projects on site with assistance from the project manager.
-Strong communication skills.
-Ability to work overtime as needed for project success.
Preferred Experience (not required):
-Prior leadership experience (foreman/crew lead).
-Class A CDL with experience driving dump trucks.
-Experience hauling trailers (gooseneck and bumper pull).
-Experience with home dig outs.
Job Duties:
-Operate construction equipment to include excavators, skid steers, bulldozers, dump trucks, vac trailers, exc.
-Work with laborers and pipe layers to install underground utilities per plan.
-Complete cut/fill grading efforts for roadways, lots, and tract spaces.
-Prepare projects for hardscape construction (curb and gutter, sidewalks, and asphalt).
-Install underground sanitary, storm, water and dry utilities.
-Reading and understanding civil construction plans and architectural plans.
-Understanding jurisdictional requirements for construction.
-Assisting in quantifying needed materials and communicating to the Excavation Superintendent or Project Manager for ordering materials.
-Ability to think forward and prepare on site work for upcoming workdays. This includes early notification of project needs like rock deliveries and haul off efforts.
-Maintaining redlined plans through the life of the project. Redlined plans to show changes in construction from design.
-Assisting Excavation Superintendent and Project Manager in coordinating with subcontractors.
-Maintain the ability to work with little to no direction/supervision from others.
-Fill out required daily foreman reports by the end of each workday.
-Ability to keep project completion dates on schedule.
-Other tasks assigned as needed for project success.
Employer Notes:
-This position acts as the site/crew lead.
-Job sites are typically within 30 minutes to McMinnville. Work sites range from Sherwood to Albany, Occasional job sites located at the coast. Employees report directly to job sites.
Wages, Hours and Benefits:
-Full time, Monday - Friday, 7am - 4pm
-$30.00 - $40.00 DOE for starting wage.
-60 day probationary period.
-Full paid health for employees, family plans are available.
-Foreman truck with fuel card.
