Job purpose:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing facility equipment and systems to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will reflect the facility’s mission and maintain high standards of professionalism and service.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of building/plant maintenance experience preferred
- High School Diploma or Trade School certification required
- Must possess required Certificates of Fitness (NYC Fire Department preferred)
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems
- Ability to safely use maintenance tools and equipment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff
Duties and responsibilities may include:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, etc.)
- Complete preventive maintenance as scheduled
- Repair fixtures, doors, locks, lighting, and equipment
- Maintain heating, cooling, and ventilation systems
- Conduct safety checks on fire systems, alarms, sprinklers, and generators
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies promptly
- Ensure facility is clean, safe, and compliant with all regulations
- Maintain proper inventory of tools and supplies
- Assist with grounds maintenance and general upkeep
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
