Overview
WALTER (walter-us.com) is seeking a highly motivated, hunter-style Business Development Executive to drive new revenue across its solutions offerings for the real estate industry, including Data Center.
This role is focused on winning new business with property managers, landlords, owners, brokers, workplace leaders, facilities teams, and other real estate operators who need a trusted partner for clean-outs, decommissioning, relocation support, reuse, donation coordination, and secure, compliant electronics recycling and IT asset disposition.
You will own the full sales cycle, from prospecting and relationship-building to proposal development, negotiation, closing, and account growth. Reporting directly to theVP of Sales & Marketing, you will play a key role in expanding WALTER’s footprint across NYC and the NY metro area and building long-term commercial relationships in the real estate ecosystem.

What You’ll Do
- Build and manage a pipeline of new business opportunities across the real estate industry, including property management firms, landlords, brokers, owners, office tenants, workplace teams, and facilities leaders.
- Position WALTER as a partner for clean-outs, decommissioning, relocation support, reuse, donation management, and secure, compliant electronics recycling and IT asset disposition.
- Prospect into opportunities tied to office moves, tenant turnovers, vacancies, renovations, repositionings, and portfolio-wide operational needs.
- Develop trusted relationships with decision-makers and influencers across operations, facilities, workplace, sustainability, IT, and property teams.
- Lead the full sales cycle from outreach and qualification through site visits, proposal development, negotiation, closing, and handoff to operations.
- Create tailored solution proposals that align with each client’s operational, compliance, sustainability, data security, and budget priorities.
- Identify and develop strategic referral partnerships with brokers, property managers, project managers, movers, IT service providers, and other service providers in the real estate ecosystem.
- Grow existing accounts through repeat work, cross-selling, referrals, and strong client relationship management.
- Represent WALTER at industry events, networking opportunities, and relevant community or real estate forums.
- Maintain accurate CRM data, pipeline visibility, forecasting, and activity reporting.
- Meet and exceed quarterly new business, pipeline, and revenue goals.
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years of B2B business development or sales experience, ideally in commercial real estate services, facilities management, office services, logistics, construction, electronics recycling, IT asset disposition, environmental services, or a related field.
- Proven ability to prospect, build pipeline, and close new business.
- Strong relationship-building skills with multiple stakeholder types, including operators, property teams, IT teams, and external partners.
- Experience managing a consultative sales process with customized proposals and service-based solutions.
- High degree of autonomy, urgency, and follow-through.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills and comfort managing a pipeline in a CRM.

You are comfortable selling into a fragmented market, developing partnerships, and creating momentum from scratch. You know how to position value beyond price and can help clients see WALTER as a trusted extension of their operations across clean-outs, decommissioning, and secure, compliant electronics recycling and IT asset disposition needs.
Experience selling into the NYC real estate ecosystem is strongly preferred.
Success in This Role Looks Like
- Building a qualified pipeline of $500K–$1M within the first 12 months.
- Closing new accounts across the real estate, workplace, facilities, and office operations sectors.
- Establishing strategic referral relationships with key industry partners.
- Consistently achieving quarterly activity and revenue targets.
- Expanding repeat business and long-term account value.
- Demonstrating how business growth directly supports WALTER’s environmental and social mission.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary plus uncapped commission.
- Suggested range: $70,000–$90,000 base, with on-target earnings of $110,000–$130,000 for a strong performer.

Where You’ll Work
This role is based out of WALTER’s office in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Regular travel within the NYC metro area is required for client meetings, site visits, walkthroughs, and industry events.
